Read the passage. While in high school, I went out for the football team. I had never played football before—it was a tremendou

s physical and mental challenge for me. It took a lot of hard work and discipline, but eventually I became one of the star players on the team. The coach never let me do less than my best. It was great training for any kind of life challenge that I might face in the future. I think everyone should play a sport in high school. what would be an example of foreshadowing in a story about a girl who fails to get a part in a play she wants
snow_lady [41]

Foreshadowing is a literary device in which an author hints at what is coming later in the story. It helps the reader develop expectations about the upcoming events, and therefore, it of often used at the beginning of a story or chapter. It also creates an atmosphere of suspense, so that readers become more interested in it. Foreshadowing can be achieved through various means, such as character dialogues, plot events and changes in setting.

For example, in a story about a girl who fails to get a part in a play, a way to foreshadow the event would be through the character's thoughts. Perhaps she is very nervous and she is convinced she will fail before the audition, so that we know it is a very likely outcome that that will happen. Narration is another method. A narrator could tell you, before her audition, something about how "she did not know how disastrous that day would turn out to be," therefore implying that she will not get the part.

At first buck tried not to fight with spitz because?
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

At first Buck tried not to fight with Spitz because he didn't want to set a bad example. Here, Option D is the right choice.

Explanation:

In Jack London’s “The Call of the Wild,” Buck is said to have the Dominant Primordial Beast in him. It means that he had the will to survive as the primary thing in his life. He too was a head of a group of dogs just like Spitz. There was always a sour hatred between the two.

When Spitz attacked any other dogs, Buck would come in between which caused all the animosity. But he always avoided fighting with him as he found it useless and to keep his image among other dofs right.
