Hughes, whose writing career spanned more than half a century, was diverse in his themes, which included connectedness, transitoriness, racism, integration, poverty, myth, history, and universal freedom. Particularly unique to his work was his integration of his writing with blues and jazz. He wrote operettas, and many of his poems were set to music. The voice in the poem is that of the black mothers through the ages. In the opening line, the narrator addresses her children. In the narrative that follows, “the Negro mother” depicts the capture and hardship of black slaves and speaks of the will to endure that kept them going. The voice of the Negro mother urges the children to transform the future so that they may live in dignity and freedom from white oppression. The poem, often referred to as a heritage poem, is highly lyrical, employing both a regular rhyme scheme (couplets) and meter. It was Hughes’s intention, he said, that the poems be pleasant to recite and easy to remember. “The Negro Mother” and the success of the volume show how keenly in tune Hughes was with his audience. Answer:

B. This remark tells us that much of humanity has lost its appreciation for earth and nature, to the point of resenting its mere appearance.

Explanation:

The question above is related to the short story entitled, "The Machine Stops." It focuses on two characters namely, Vashti and Kuno (her son). In the story, people were living underground and no longer on the surface of the earth. They were able to meet their needs through a global Machine. People were placed in isolated rooms where they communicated with other people through instant messages and video conferences. There were actually some people called the "homeless outcasts" who tried to live on the surface of the Earth.

Unlike her son, Kuno, who was interested to visit and know more about the surface of the Earth, Vashti was "not interested in natural inspiration." So, this explains her remark above. It shows how much of humanity has lost their appreciation for earth and nature. This is the extent to which the underground Machine did to people in the "poisoned darkness."

So, this explains the answer.

Answer:

Hercules.

Explanation:

Hercules is a mythical character in Greek mythology. He is seen as the divine god, the son of Zeus -the god of thunder and King of the gods on Mount Olympus. Hercules was half man, half god and was the embodiment of masculinity, greatest of all Greek heroes, he also defeated Hector, the bravest and strongest warrior in the battle of Troy.

Hercules was a person of great physical strength and incredible sexual prowess with both men and women. He was also blessed with wisdom as he was not always a brute but employed his intellect when he found himself in situations his great strength couldn't save him.

Hercule was hated by the goddess Hera -wife of Zeus because Zeus made love to a mortal woman Alcmene by disgusting himself as her husband. Hera's hatred of Heracles was so much that she plotted to kill him at birth with the help of Ilithiya, goddess of childbirth but her plan failed.

Heracles was named Alcides by his earth parents but he later became known as Hercules. He was renamed to try and pacify Hera after she sent two giant snakes to kill Hercules and his twin brother when they were eight months old.

Hera eventually succeeded in making Heracles mad much later and he ended up killing his children.

In his quest to expatiate the murders, he was sent to perform twelve tasks by his archenemy Eurystheus. Even though Hercules performed all ten tasks, Eurystheus wouldn't accept two of the tasks and asked him to accomplish another two, which Hercules did with ease. He was expunged of his crimes and granted immortality.

The twin getting a C is using a fixed mindset. Just because your twin gets a better grade does not make you dumber it means you may need a different approach at what you are doing.
