Forgetting an external experience in the world of Psychology according to Freud is called Repression. It is an act to forget bad memories so that trauma does not occur in the future.

Further explanation

Freud said that repression is the most basic self-defense mechanism. Repression is shown in the form of burying feelings of anxiety, threatening, will that do not match expectations and desires that interfere with the subconscious.

A psychoanalytic psychologist, Sigmund Freud first developed thoughts about the mechanism of self-defense in 1926. Completed by Anna, the child, they managed to find a way that humans use to reduce tension due to unexpected events to the subconscious.

According to Freud, there are three things that happen after someone presses a traumatic event into the subconscious.

 • First, in the conscious world, impulses and desires that are suppressed remain unchanged.
 • Second, the urge and desire to enter the conscious world in a different form from the unconscious.
 • Third, impulses and suppressed desires are expressed in other forms.

Playing with the subconscious must be careful. Do not let anxiety control us and enter the subconscious that actually harms us. Learning to let go, learn to let go, and learn to be strong in dealing with a handful of problems in life is a human task throughout life.

Valentin [98]
The answer is purposiveness of behavior.

Edward Tolman is a purposive behaviorist whose work contributed to cognitive learning theory. His theory was called Purposive Behaviorism because he dealt with behaviors that are purposive or goal directed. Behaviors become purposive when an individual seeks something in its environment. The bits of knowledge and cognition gathered while seeking in the environment serve as cognitive maps are used to navigate more and find routes to his goal.
