“All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives. The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. The judicial power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” (U.S. Constitution)

I think the best answer would be “a desire to erase traces of British colonial influence”

Indian returned to purely Indian named places started in 1947 and is still continually happening right now.  Locals still call the names of some places as to the original name such as Mumbai; locals call it Bombay also with the presence of Bombay High Court.

So, they set out with having air strikes on London. To defend against this, Britain unleashed the RAF (Royal Air Force) to push back German planes from London. Even though they were outnumbered, the RAF stood it's ground and Hitler had to postpone his invasion.
