Alan Weisman on his book "The world without us" provides us an overview on how we - humans - are having a highly negative effect on nature. At the beginning of chapter 1 he contrasts the power of humans to that of the nature making reference to an old forest located between Poland and Belarus which is more vulnerable day after day.
