PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME ITS DUE BY 11:59 TONIGHT I WILL GIVE 100 POINTS
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

1. The context of the quote "They're such beautiful shirts," she sobbed, her muffled in the folds. ... In The Great Gatsby, Daisy's reaction to the shirts demonstrates both her regret and her materialism. This moment happens during her first visit to Gatsby's mansion.

They are in Gatsby's Mansion and the shirts symbolize the way Gatsby is trying to impress—to buy—Daisy with his wealth. He believes that his money makes him worthy of her love. ... Of course, the efforts he goes to and the way he throws out all his shirts before her show that wealth will never come effortlessly to him.

2.

•Maybe the shirts being wrinkled and tossed everywhere symbolize how Gatsby felt when Daisy left him because he wasn't rich enough, or how Daisy feels when she's with Tom.

•The shirts being thrown around so carelessly shows that in The Great Gatsby objects that are as simple as a shirt don't matter, regardless of the emotions or memories connected to them. That things like shirts are just another materialistic thing

3. She starts to cry. She realises then that had she waited she could have had both: money and love. Daisy needs financial securiry, which her husband provides. She is materialistic. She gets emotional at the sight of lifeless, yet expensive shirts. She does not cry even when she sees Gatsby again to whom she even refers as an object.

I don't really know if these are right but I hope it helps you

Write a creative writing with the title "discovery"
BartSMP [9]

Answer:

"Discovery"

Discovery In the thick folds of the forest I found myself gasping. Gasping for air, gasping for something that would remind me how to be alive in that place where all seemed to be dying. The night had fallen upon me quietly, like a blanket that is thrown upon one’s shoulders to protect them from the cold, but the only thing I needed protection from was the very thing that was gripping me – darkness. The air was heavy with the sound of silence; I dared not move in fear of what might happen, so I laid still. Face in the ground, my nose filled with the scent of grass and wet fallen leaves; my hands in my pocket; my legs against my chest. There had not been a moment before where I felt this vulnerable, this fragile. As if my bones could break at the mere attempt of movement, or that my eyes would no longer be able to withstand the sight of light.  Fear is a mighty thing. It paralyses you to the very core of your being.  The only sound discerning time was my heartbeat; a constant ticking of the clock, a simple reminder that life existed in that desolated space… until I heard something else. Something warm. Similar to my heartbeat but just faster, more fearless; and so I decided to get up and follow the sound. My legs were stiff from laying still, burdened by my own body weight I fell to the ground in my attempt to walk. I tried again. And again, until I finally stood up – a little twig, towered by trees.

Before the war, what did the U.S. government want to do about slavery? A. Expand it B. Ignore it C. Outlaw it D. Restrict it
ozzi
I would say D. Restrict it because the north of the U.S. had no slavery while the south did so they kinda restricted it to only being allowed in the south.
