Representative democracy due to the citizens ( above 18 that is ) electing officials to represent us as well as run the government.

The reasons for the failure of weimar republic are complex and multi facted.
Germany was the mercy of so many different forces and factors - political and economic,internal and external structural and short term- it is impossible to isolate one or two as being chiefly responsible for the failure of republic.
Both Federalist and anti-federalist wanted popular sovereignty - which means government by popular consent.... by countries the federalist believe that the power in the national government should be shared by legislative, executive, and judicial branches
