Answer:

I believe the answer is $105.

Step-by-step explanation: Because the interest is not compounded, that means that the formula would be 100(.05)(1), and then adding that number (5) to the answer, which is 105.

Customers of a phone company can choose between two service plans for long distance calls. The first plan has a $22 monthly fee
vladimir2022 [97]
Company a = 22 + 0.07m
company b = 8 + 0.12m

We are looking for the time when the prices are equal. i.e. the price of company a = the price of company b

company a = company b
22 + 0.07m = 8 + 0.12m
22 - 8 = 0.12m - 0.07m
14 = 0.05m
m = 14/0.05
m = 280

Therefore, the two companies will cost the same if you talk for 280 minutes

If the whole number multiples of 36 that are both more than 36 and less than 36 squared, how many are squares of whole numbers?
seraphim [82]

This is different than the usual questions we get.

We're given a set of some multiples of 36:

\{ 2\times 36, 3 \times 36, 4 \times 36, ..., 35 \times 36 \}

We're asked how many of those are perfect squares.

36 is of course already a perfect square, so for the product to be a perfect square the other factor must be as well. So this is equivalent to:

How many perfect squares are there between 2 and 35?

Just listing them, there's 2^2, 3^2, 4^2 \textrm{ and } 5^2

Answer: 4 squares
