Should the government control social media? Why or why not?

English

Answer:

In my opinion, no. Because that's a form that people can express themselves. Plus, the government probably won't let anything on there that they find offensive to them. So it kinda violates our freedom of speech. (hope this helps!!)

Answer:

No

Explanation:

The government should not control Social media as these are platforms not publishers. It gives an easy voice to the users who exhibit certain opinions out of their consciousness that should not be controlled. It could be censored or monitored to an extent that it does not violate laws or threaten other users.

Social media platforms are privately owned, with their own rules and regulations guaranteed by the government itself. They cannot be completely owned by government.

Censorship is politically motivated that aims to privatize or polarize the social media. Government's interference obstructs the production or consumption of the information.

Individual speech can be easily influenced by government's agendas. The right to free speech is violated due to the restriction imposed upon the users who are guaranteed free expression in the public sphere.

Read this claim. Cities should ban the sale of soda in cups larger than sixteen ounces. Which evidence best supports this claim?
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

An article that shows a link between drinking soda and health problems

Explanation:

You should always get your evidence from a credible source. A story about your friend, a quote from a parent or a random person's review is NOT credible. The most useful piece of information you have here is the article. It describes a link between soda and health issues. Your claim is that soda should be banned in large portions and that could be a reason for the ban. I really hope this helps you!
