Read the passages. Passage One Coral reefs that are falling apart are only one problem affecting ocean environment. Skeletons of
dead coral animals make up coral reefs. Because living corals do not thrive without sun, they attach to the top of the reef. Without specific amounts of light, temperature, and oxygen, the coral reef cannot continue to support life. If the problems of erosion and pollution continue, there will not be a suitable home for sea life. Passage Two Thousands of fish would not have anywhere to live without coral reefs. Beautiful white, sandy beaches would not exist without any reef. There is nowhere that is better for diving because of the brilliant and beautiful marine life that lives among the reefs. But only a few parks have been established to protect the fragile environment of coral reefs. Which of the following is nottrue about the two passages? Both authors state that coral reefs are polluting the ocean floor.
Both authors state that coral reefs are threatened.
Both authors suggest that something must be done to save the reefs.
Both authors suggest that coral reefs are fragile.
The last one is not true. Only the second statement mentions how fragile the environment is that coral reefs exist in.The first statement focuses on erosion and pollution as causing the reefs to die.
The ways to solve this issue are limited, but with the help of some High school students and the Bereo Jellyfish scientist may be able to control these Jellyfish but with a price? The Beereo Jellyfish a species that eats Jellyfish is so far helping out control the number of Jellyfish in the area. Scientists are afraid that the Jellyfish may do its job too well. If one were to place the Jellyfish in a different area which is overpopulated with Jellyfish scientist fear that bringing a new species will disrupt the balance in the jellyfishes ecosystem. Some high school students in Japan have a different idea. They want to cook the Jellyfish into a caramel candy. They hope that they’ll be able to sell the candy and save Japan from a large number of Jellyfish.
The length of the presentation should not be taken into account when determining bias, because it determines nothing except maybe how much a person has to say.
