History

"The Protestant Reformation was a major 16th century European movement aimed initially at reforming the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Its religious aspects were supplemented by ambitious political rulers who wanted to extend their power and control at the expense of the Church. The Reformation ended the unity imposed by medieval Christianity and, in the eyes of many historians, signaled the beginning of the modern era. A weakening of the old order was already under way in Northern Europe, as evidenced by the emergence of thriving new cities and a determined middle class.

nika2105 [10]
False, The only requirement to become a federal judge is being appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. In theory, the President could appoint an undocumented immigrant, and if the Senate confirmed that appointment, that person would be a federal judge. Unlikely, but possible.

What factors in russia contributed to the eventual revolution?
nadezda [96]
Three of the factors in Russia which fostered the revolution of 1917 were the impoverishment of the peasants who struggled to survive on their small plots of land and to pay the debts they owed to buy their land after the serf system was changed; many peasants who couldn't make a go of it fled to the cities and took part in the local industrial revolution but were oppressed by inadequate wages and poor working conditions and lastly WWI resulted in the poor masses in Russia being used as canon fodder in an unjust imperialist war to divide up the world differently unlike WWII which was to end the Nazi tyrrany.

Did the Americans want war with England in 1764? What makes you think so
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

The Americans, the majority of the colonists, didn't want war but, a peaceful separation and the formation of a new country.  Tensions and the British's reluctance towards this idea was which drove the colonists to war.

Explanation:

In 1765, tensions escalated with the Stamp Act which imposed more suffocating British rule over the already fed up colonists. In 1764, Parliament enacted the Sugar Act, an attempt to raise revenue in the colonies through a tax on molasses. Although this tax had been on the books since the 1730s, smuggling and laxity of enforcement had blunted its sting. Now, however, the tax was to be enforced. An outcry arose from those affected, and colonists implemented several effective protest measures that centered around boycotting British goods. Then in 1765, Parliament enacted the Stamp Act, which placed taxes on paper, playing cards, and every legal document created in the colonies. Since this tax affected virtually everyone and extended British taxes to domestically produced and consumed goods, the reaction in the colonies was pervasive. The Stamp Act crisis was the first of many that would occur over the next decade and a half.
