Especially if the case is one in which other people are also trying to survive yes. Some would not nescessarily call it selfishness, it would be more of an act that you have to, I see it kind of like self defense. It is not completely selfish, but a human has the instincts and knowledge to always survive, sometimes at the cost of being called "selfish"
