The way the writings of Alfred Thayer Mahan encourage United States imperialism:

Alfred Thayer Mahan, U.S. Navy member, geostrategic, and teacher. He spoke about the significance of sea power and inspired the navy’s world-wide, helping to promote maritime growth before the First World War.

Some vessels were referred to as the USS Mahan. His study of naval history contributes to his most significant work, the effect on the history of the Seapower.

Mahan stated that the American economy would eventually be unable to handle the huge volumes of domestic imported commercial and industrial goods, and suggested that the United States must be searching for foreign markets.

Mahan believed that naval operations in favor of land forces might be of decisive significance, even if local and transient, with the influence over the sea. He also believed that a multinational coalition to defend a global free trade structure might exercise naval superiority and stated that naval actions could be decisive in land forces support .

In term of international trade and finance, the united states emerged from world war 1 as a leading ______ nation
k0ka [10]

The United States emerged from World War 1 as a leading economical nation. At the end of the war, the U.S. was part of the group which was not as devastated as other ones, because they are a Industrial country and during the war they continued producing at levels much higher that before, the increases did not stop. Their mobilization was extraordinary. It is important to say that the U.S. sent around 200,000 persons to fight, who were just enough to have impact, because France, for example, was sending more than 2,000,000 persons. Spending not as much as the other countries who were fighting and still making what they needed, helped them to grow up.
