Rome was first a republic before getting converted into an empire. This might appear to be paradoxical to some as becoming a republic is a process that usually starts from autocracy. However, history tells us that Rome was a well developed republic with the rule of law and elected representatives in 100 BC but personal ambitions and power equations let to circumstances where it got changed into an empire.

As a result of the Democratic convention in 1860?
Kipish [7]
A is incorrect because Lincoln ran for the republican party.

D is incorrect because the Democratic party was pro-slavery.

So that leaves us with B and C.

I don't know who John C. Breckinridge is, but I do know that Lincoln was the least popular candidate running for president. The only reason Lincoln won the election was because the democratic party split their votes between two candidates, so neither democratic candidate got enough votes to win the election.

So the answer is B.

Which sentence best describes an example of social stratification during the Neolithic revolution ?
gavmur [86]

One sentence that describes an example of social stratification during the Neolithic revolution may be: "<em>Hunting and gathering to farming". </em>

(It took many years, for humans to go from hunters and gatherers to a more common day life as we now know it, the result of this transition is referred to as the Neolithic Revolution, the beginnings of human civilization. This relatively stable way of life led to the development of new professions, to labour specialization and to the stratification of these societies.)
