Explanation:

1st- details: On July 21, 1861, Union and Confederate armies clashed near Manassas Junction, Virginia, in the first major land battle of the American Civil War. 

outcome:

The Confederates won the battle, but both sides suffered casualties. President Lincoln signed a bill that authorized the enlistment of 500,000 new Union soldiers. 

2nd- details: a battle of the American Civil War, fought on September 17, 1862, between Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia and Union General George B. McClellan's Army of the Potomac, near Sharpsburg, Maryland and Antietam Creek. 

Outcome:

Both sides suffered severly and had many deaths. After the battle Lincoln relieved McClellan of his command of the Army of the Potomac on November 5, effectively ending the general's military career.

The Security Council has the authority to send peacekeeping forces into conflict zones and to impose sanctions on member states of the UN that are deemed to be acting against the cause of peace.

The Security Council also approves new member states of the UN and plays a role in the election of judges to the International Court of Justice.
