Answer:

a)  1 inches=  \frac{72}{7} miles

b)  30.86 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Given: Distance from liberty to west quall is 72 miles and it is 7 inches on the map.

To find : The scale on the map.

So, In 7 inches distance covered = 72 miles

In 1 inches distance covered= \frac{72}{7}

Therefore, The scale on the map is

1 inches=  \frac{72}{7} miles.

b) Given: Foston is between liberty and west quall and is 4 inches from liberty on the map.

To find : Distance between foston to west quall (F to W)

We know the scale of map i.e.  1 inches=  \frac{72}{7} miles.

Firstly, we find the distance covered from liberty to foston i.e. 4 inches on the map

4 inches =  4\times\frac{72}{7} miles

4 inches = 41.14 miles

Now the distance between liberty to west quall (L to W)= 72 miles

and the distance between liberty to foston (L to F)= 41.14 miles

Therefore, the distance between foston to west quall(F to W)=distance(L to W)- distance(L to F) (Refer the attached graph)

Distance(F to W)= distance(L to W)- distance(L to F)

Distance(F to W)=72-41.14 miles = 30.86 miles

Solve the system of equations using subtraction.<br> 4x - 2y = 10<br> 4x + y = 19
Alex777 [14]

Answer:

y=3 x=4

Step-by-step explanation:

4x - 2y = 10

<u>4x + y = 19</u>

    -3y=-9

the 4x canceled out.

y=3

plug in y into one of the equations

4x + 3 = 19

4x=16

x=4

Hope this helps!

If not, I am sorry.

PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If she was given a discount of 12% then the amount to be paid becomes I=P×R×T/100

I=400000×12×20/100

I=960000

Amount to be paid =I +P= 960000+400000=1360000

To liquidate this amount in 20 years therefore will be A÷20

1360000÷20

=68000 yearly

Help with this one can’t figure it out
NeX [460]
To solve the problem shown in the figure attached, you must apply the proccedure shown below:

 1. You have that the equation for calculate the area of a circle is:

 A=πr²

 2. You have that the formula for calculate the diameter of a circle is:

 d=2r

 Therefore, the radius is r=d/2

 where r is the radius of the circle

 3. Keeping the information above on mind, you have the correct sequence of the equations by clearing the diameter d, is shown below:

 A=π(d/2)²
 A=πd²/4
 4A=πd²
 d²=4A/π
 d√(4A/π)

 Therefore, as you can see, the answer is:

 A=π(d/2)²
 A=πd²/4
 4A=πd²
 d²=4A/π
 d√(4A/π)
