As the Earth rotates on its axis and revolves around the Sun, the Earth goes through seasonal changes. Why does this happen?
Harrizon [31]
The earth's axis points to the same spot in the sky as the earth orbits the sun. This relationship can be divided into four points of interest.
1) When the earth's north pole is pointing at its maximum amount away from the sun. That is the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere.
2) Six months later, the north pole is now tilted most *toward* the sun. This is the NH summer solstice.
3,4) The points halfway between those are where the polar axis is "sideways" to the sun. The sun is on a direct line from the center of the earth through the equator. These are the two equinoxes.

To illustrate this, take a globe and move it in a circle around some central point, with the angle of the polar tilt always pointed in the same direction.

Do volcanoes impact global warming?
lara31 [8.8K]
It all depends.
During an eruption there is a mixture of gases and different particles that enter the atmosphere. These include ash and sulphur dioxide. The substances that they cause help to reflect the sunlight away from the earth.
Other types of gases and mixtures such as C02 can cause warming. This can add to the greenhouse effect.

Jade wants to stop for coffee on her way to school. the distance from jade's house to the coffee shop is 3 miles more than twice
Serga [27]

The total distance from jade's house to school is 5 times the distance from the coffee shop to her school = 7.5 miles

Distance is the overall movement of an object without any regard to path. we will outline distance as to how a lot ground an object has protected regardless of its starting or finishing point.

Equation;

Let the distance between coffee shop and school = X

Distance from Jade's house to coffee shop = 3 miles +2x

Total distance from Jade's house to school = 5*X

∴ the total distance = house to coffee shop + coffee shop to school

                        ⇒    5X =  (3 + 2X + X)

                        ⇒     5X = ( 3 +3X)

                         ⇒     2X = 3

                          ⇒      X = 1.5 miles

Therefore,

            Distance = house to school = 5 * 1.5 = 7.5 miles

                               coffee shop to school = 1.5 miles

                               house to coffee shop = 3 + 2*1.5 = 6 miles

Hence, The total distance from jade's house to school is 5 times the distance from the coffee shop to her school = 7.5 miles
