Find the number of letters from the word MAXIMUM where two consonants cannot occur. (Permutation)
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

4!

Step-by-step explanation:

In word MAXIMUM, consonants are M & X. According to the question itself, consonants should not occur together.

So, we have to put vowels at each even position; only then the condition will be satisfied.

We can put this in 3! ways (permutations of A, I & U).

For odd positions we can put 3-M's & a X. Total ways is 4!/3! (as repetitions of M).

Hence, the answer is 4!/3! x 3! = 24 ways.

24=4!.

Julia and Cody are working together on solving math problems. For every one problem that Julia
slega [8]

Answer:

Cody has solved (12 × 12) = 144 problems.

Step-by-step explanation:

For every one problem that Julia completes, Cody completes twelve.

If Julia Completes x problems and Cody completes y problems, then we can write y = 12x ........ (1)

Now, given that the number of problems solved by Cody is one hundred twenty more than two times the number of problems solved by Julia.

Hence, 2x + 120 = y ......... (2)

Now, from equations (1) and (2) we get,

2x + 120 = 12x

⇒ 10x = 120

⇒ x = 12

Therefore, Cody has solved (12 × 12) = 144 problems. (Answer)

5 1/2
-
3 3/4
______
eimsori [14]
So first you want to convert both to have the same denominator.

5 1/2 - 3 3/4

To:

5 2/4 - 3 3/4

Now, to make it easier for me, I would convert both to an improper fraction.

5 2/4 -> 22/4

3 3/4 -> 15/4

So now you can just do,

22/4 - 15/4,

which is just 7/4.

This in mixed number form is 1 3/4.

Find the area of this circle. Use 3.14 for pi
aalyn [17]
The area of a circle is given by the formula:

A = \pir^2

Since \pi = 3.14, and r = 6, sub these values into the equation,

A = 3.14 x 6^2
 = 113.04

Hope this helped!

At CVS, the tax paid was $2.45, which was 7% of the cost. What was the cost of the items purch
UNO [17]

'Percentage' is obtained by multiplying 2.45 by - 7%.

- 7% × 2.45 =

(- 7 ÷ 100) × 2.45 =

(- 7 × 2.45) ÷ 100 =

- 17.15 ÷ 100 =

- 0.1715 ≈

- 0.17;

How do we check the result?

If - 7% × 2.45 = - 0.1715 =>

Divide - 0.1715 by 2.45...

... And see if we get as a result: - 7%.

Note:

100/100 = 100 ÷ 100 = 100% = 1

Multiply a number by the fraction 100/100,

... and its value doesn't change.

n/100 = n%, any number.
