<em>"Life on the Color Line"</em> is an autobiography written by Gregory Howard Williams. He tells his own story as a young man who grew up believing he was white. He grew up in the racist culture of the 1950s. He later learned that he was "black". The title of this autobiography makes reference to the fact that the author had the opportunity to see and comprehend life <em>"on the color line"</em>; that is to say, from the point of view of a black person.
