Answer:

Space junk can damage satellites and can be lethal to astronauts.

Explanation:

Most of the object considered space waste are very small and travel around the Earth at high speed. Because of this, they can be dangerous for launch vehicles, satellites, the International Space Station and any manned mission should they collide with a spaceship.

The plan proposed by Roosegaarde to reduce space junk starts with a public awareness program that helps inform the public about the reality of space junk.

The eventual plan to end the space waste problem is to upcycle the debris floating around the planet. I think with the use of new technologies it will certainly be possible to eventually eliminate space waste.

Question 6(Multiple Choice Worth 3 points) B If solidification ages at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge are around 10,000 years old, what
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

Option (2)

Explanation:

The mid oceanic ridge is the region along which two plates moves away from one another. This occurs in the divergent plate boundary. The magma, during this type of plate motion, comes out to the surface of the ocean floor and solidifies immediately due to the lowering temperature, giving rise to the formation of basaltic rocks.

The solidification age refers to the time when the magma last crystallized as it ejected at the ocean floor.

According to the given condition, the magma last solidified nearly 10,000 years back in the mid oceanic ridge, which are considered to be the youngest rocks found along the mid oceanic ridge.

Thus, the correct answer is option (2).

How does sea floor spreading relate to supercontinents?
Lesechka [4]

The seafloor spreading occurs at the mid-ocean ridges. The reason for this is that the convection currents from the mantle manage to break through the oceanic crust and propel magma on the seafloor. As they do, the magma consolidated in the water and new crust is created. Since there's constant pilling up of new crust, it pushes the old crust away in both sides. This results in the movement of the plates, and as they move eventually they will come into a situation to collide, resulting in the continents to start merging with one another. As the continental masses merge, they will gradually create a supercontinent.
