Read the quotation from Henry David Thoreau's Walden. Every day or two I strolled to the village to hear some of the gossip whic

h is incessantly going on there, circulating either from mouth to mouth, or from newspaper to newspaper, and which, taken in homeopathic doses, was really as refreshing in its way as the rustle of leaves and the peeping of frogs. As I walked in the woods to see the birds and squirrels, so I walked in the village to see the men and boys; instead of the wind among the pines I heard the carts rattle. Which is the best example of a vivid sensory detail? "I strolled to the village" "to hear some of the gossip which is incessantly going on there" "as the rustle of leaves and the peeping of frogs" "As I walked in the woods"

Does old age means end of life according to A Tennyson in Ulysses
stiv31 [10]
No, old age COULD mean death, but we do not know. Young children, or young people are also subjects of death. We do not know our time when we go. It all depends MOSTLY on your lifestyle, smoking, drinking (bad things) can lead to death very fast. But, young people, they are not allowed to do those things, and our teachers, help us not to so we live a long, good life. We have red-ribbon week for a reason, to help people get out of bad-habits that WILL takeaway their life one day. Old age can mean anything, As well as young age.

Thanks-

As Tom testified, Scout remarks that until Atticus explained it to her, she "never understood the subtlety of Tomâs predicament.
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

Scout realized that Tom had no idea about the consequences of hitting a white woman.

Explanation:

Tom had hit a white lady, probably out of anger or frustration and didn't know the implications of striking a white woman (Tom is probably black) so after realising what he had done, he immediately took to his heels because he would be probably tried and executed.

It's clear that he acted without thought and was driven by anger before he proceeded to strike the white woman.
