Bottom-up processing starts at the very basic level of sensory receptors and works toward more complex levels of processing.

Explanation:

Bottom-up sensory processing, a sensory perception process, is the entry or basic level of analysis of the senses which begins with an incoming stimulus that is detected by the sensory receptors in sensory organs and then begins the complex processing of sensory perception.

This process is initiated with a sensory data from which sensory information is integrated in the brain.

The sensory photoreceptors of the eye present in the retina capture light as the visual data. This data is then transducted to electrical impulses and transmitted to the visual cortex in the brain, where the information in the data is processed that provides the visual experience .

How does sugar affect immune system biology?
rosijanka [135]
Sugar impacts your white blood cells by competing for space in those cells with Vitamin C. When Linus Pauling did research in the 1970s to find out how the body uses Vitamin C, he discovered that white blood cells need Vitamin C to destroy bacteria and viruses. Sugar and Vitamin C are similar in their chemical structure. When you eat sugar, it directly competes for space in your immune cells with Vitamin C!The more sugar in your system, the less Vitamin C can get into your white blood cells. Sugar DOES NOT help your immune system fight infection at all, resulting in a weakened defense from infections.

Describe two ways in which the evolution of organisms can have a harmful effect on humans
Ksenya-84 [330]

When evolving, microorganisms such as harmful bacteria may develop a resistance to antibiotics. This means that the disease the bacteria in question cause will be harder to treat. This is quite bad since bacteria can pass on traits to other bacteria without even multiplying.

The flu virus is also a good example. Generally, the virus itself mutates quite frequently. This means that with each mutation the virus has a potential to gain a genetic trait which may cause more severe flu symptoms or a resistance to drugs/the antibodies our bodies produced to counter-attack the type of flu virus it has previously encountered.
