It can be said that Karen’s memories for her liquor bottle are a type called state-dependent memory. State-dependent memory is a situation where an individual will be able to recall memories better if they are in their consciousness is in the same way as when the memory is formed. State-dependent memory usually appears when the individual is highly influenced by psychoactive substances, in Karen’s case: alcohol. This is why Karen can only remember where she puts her half-empty liquor bottle when she drinks.

Answer:

State dependent memory

Explanation:

State dependent memory involves recalling an event when in the same state of awareness of when the memory was initially formed.

In the example example Karen hid a half-empty liquor bottle after her last drinking spree. She couldnt remember where she hid it until she started drinking again. This scenario validated the state dependent memory recall.
