What effects on sectionalism did the industrial revolution have?

History
1 answer:
Gnom [1K]3 years ago
8 0
Sectionalism is the seperation bewteen two groups. Most all industry (factories) were in the North, and materials (such as cotton, sugar) were in the south. The south provided the north with raw materials and in return for goods/products. This caused sectionalism, because the North were generating more profits than the south. The south only had crops, and as the price of crops continued to go down, southerners were getting angry. The industrial revolution further divided the country, it was the urban vs. the rural.

Why was literacy for slaves threat to slave owners
charle [14.2K]

The white Americans didn't want the slaves to learn how to read and write because if they did the slaves would've read the bible and knew that it was about them.

They would've known that Africa was the motherland and that they were the first people on earth and that they were worth more than the white Americans told them.  The white Americans wanted to control the slaves and keep them in fear of them that's why they beat them every time they caught a slave trying to read it. Even when the slave pastors would try to have church the white Americans would tell them what to preach and if they didn't do as they said the white Americans would beat them or even kill them.

Why did the Colonist decide to separate from Great Britain?
loris [4]

Answer:

The Colonists wanted independence from Great Britain because the king created unreasonable taxes, those taxes were created because Britain just fought the French and Indians. England decided that since they fought on American soil, then it was only fair to make Colonists pay for it.
