The general or standard form of a parabola is
(y-k) = a(x+h)^2
h,k are the intersection points of parabola
Intersection points are where y= 0, or x=0
itsnorigin at (,0,0)that means h=0, k=0
it passes through points (-1,2) and (1,2)
So then
y= ax^2 , 2 = a (-1)^2
this means a= 2
Then results standard form equation
Y = 2• X^2
(x-4)/10=7/5
x-4=70/5
x-4=14
x=18
here you go, practice it once or twice. good luck
3(x−5)/2=2(x+5)/3
Cross-multiply.
(3(x−5))/2=(2(x+5))/3
3(x−5)*(3)=2(x+5)*(2)
9x−45=4x+20
Subtract 4x from both sides.
9x−45−4x=4x+20−4x
5x−45=20
Add 45 to both sides.
5x−45+45=20+45
5x=65
Divide both sides by 5.
5x/5=65/5
x=13
A function rule would be y = 60x. Y represents the number of miles traveled, and X represents the number of hours. For example, if Tina drove for three hours, it would be 60×3 which is 180 miles.
