How can I make this equation into an ordered pair

I'd suggest re-wording your question:
"How do I find the ordered pair (x,y) that solves this system of linear equations?"

One way of doing that would be to substitute y=5x+7 into the other equation:

-3x - 2(5x+7) = -12.  Solve this for x.  Once you have a value for x, subst. that value into y=5x+7 to find the corresponding y value.

Then write the ordered pair (x,y).  That's it.

Please help with #5 and #8! I don’t really know all of the info to find the volume! (Composite Figures)
bagirrra123 [75]
It looks like you're doing good with breaking-down the composite into digestible pieces. So, don't stress too much!

Keep in mind that the area for a 3D shape is Bh, where "B" is the area of a face & "h" is the height.

#5
Shape A is 3X4X9.
First, calculate the area of a face:

9X4= 36

Multiply by height:

36X3= 108

The process is the same with shape B.
3X4X8
Calculate area of face:

8X4= 32

Multiply by height:

32X3= 96

Now you add both areas:

108+96= 204 cubic feet

I think you're doing pretty good, just don't over think things too much. Try #8 with the similar process seen here. Just comment if you get stuck.

Hope this helps!

Jordan mixed together 9 gal. of Brand A fruit drink and 8 gal. of Brand B fruit drink which contains 48% fruit juice. Find the j
Pie

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

You do this by figuring out the amounts of pure fruit juice in all.

Explanation:

Mixture:

17 gal 30% contains:

17

⋅

30

100

=

5.10

gal pure juice

From Brand B:

8 gal 48% contains:

8

⋅

48

100

=

3.84

gal pure juice

So

5.10

−

3.84

=

1.26

gal came from 9 gal of brand A

So the percentage of A is:

1.26

9

⋅

100

=

14

%

pure juice.

Of the 20 students in Emily's class 15 like chocolate cake and the rest like cheesecake how many like cheesecake and what percen
alisha [4.7K]
5 students like cheesecake because if there is 20 students in all and 15 like chocolate and the rest like cheesecake you do 20-15=5

If 5 students like cheesecake out of 20 it would be 5/20 20*5=100 just multiply by 5 5*5=25%

25% of students like cheesecake
