Because of the movement of the air masses and the open and relatively flat space all around the plant, the radiation was spread around big portion of Europe, having very bad effects on the human health, as well as the animals and plants that were affected by it. The area to this day still has very high levels of radiation and it is totally abandoned by humans, though the plants and animals have returned and repopulated, thriving in the absence of humans.
