What is the answer to 10x-3-x=52
Anarel [89]
10x-3-x=52
9x-3=52
+3 +3
9x=55
_ _
9 9
x=55/9

Add a 1 in front of the x, which gets you 1x. Subtract 1x from 10x and get 9x. You should get 9x-3=52. You then do inverse operation and add 3 to both sides. Cancel out the threes and add 3 to 52 which gives you 55. Bring down the 9x and divide both 9x and 55 by 9. You can't simplify this so you end up with x=55/9
Hope this helped

Why does Paine most likely refer to Joan of Arc? The choices are
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

C.) to demonstrate how cowardly the British army can be

Explanation:

The "American Crisis" which is a series of articles were written by Thomas Paine between 1776 to 1783. One of the purposes of the article is to inspire the Americans to fight the British in their quest for the Revolution War.

He, however, referred to Joan of Arc, by stating that "...Britain has trembled like an ague at the report of a French fleet of flat-bottomed boats; and... after ravaging the kingdom of France, was driven back like men petrified with fear; and this brave exploit was performed by a few broken forces collected and headed by a woman, Joan of Arc."

Hence, it can be concluded that Paine most likely refers to Joan of Arc "to demonstrate how cowardly the British army can be."
