A. battle of somme

The British troops together with the French division were for a major raid at Somme hoping to break the stalemate. They wanted the Germans out of France. This battle of attrition stretched over the Somme river and resulted in a long stalemate. The small advances made by any part were of little significance. The campaign lasted until the winter. The British and French forces underwent heavy loses when trying to break the enemy frontlines on the Western Front in 1916.

It is considered a stalemate since the Allies could only gain around 8km in repelling the advance of German troops.

The Battle of Somme frontlines can be seen in this image:

Each state has either a primary election or a caucus. Various rules apply, but in general the majority winner either takes all primary votes or there is proportional allocation to which the delegates then pledge to follow. There is a chance the delegates that are pledged to vote a certain way can still vote against the popular vote. However, this is very rare and does occur at a rate that will affect the final outcome.</span>
