A. battle of somme

The British troops together with the French division were for a major raid at Somme hoping to break the stalemate. They wanted the Germans out of France. This battle of attrition stretched over the Somme river and resulted in a long stalemate. The small advances made by any part were of little significance. The campaign lasted until the winter. The British and French forces underwent heavy loses when trying to break the enemy frontlines on the Western Front in 1916.

It is considered a stalemate since the Allies could only gain around 8km in repelling the advance of German troops.

The answer is C, the Taft-Hartley Act restricts the activities and power of labor unions. One of the things it does is prevent labor unions from stopping employment of someone who does not want to join a union.
