Read the quotation from chapter 5 of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, in which Huck is discussing his father. I HAD shut the

door to. Then I turned around and there he was. I used to be scared of him all the time, he tanned me so much. I reckoned I was scared now, too; but in a minute I see I was mistaken—that is, after the first jolt, as you may say, when my breath sort of hitched, he being so unexpected; but right away after I see I warn't scared of him worth bothring about. Based on the excerpt, which is the most reasonable plot prediction? Huck will once again start fearing his father. Huck will confidently face his father. Huck will refuse to speak to his father. Huck will be forced to make a choice about his father.

Answering the question, the most reasonable plot prediction is that Huck will confidently face his father.

From the excerpt, what Huck was trying to convey is that he was always afraid of his father because he always beats him but now gets to realize that his father’s action no longer scared him.

Further Explanation

Huck agreed he was scared the very moment he sighted his father but also admits that his being panic wasn’t because he knew his father was going to beat him.

“……..but right away after I see I wasn’t scared of him worth bothering about” ……..this statement from the excerpt shows Huck is no longer controlled by his father’s action and indicates that he was ready to deal with the situation. He was used to be scared but has now built some confidence which has put him in control of the situation.

The Novel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was written by Mark Twain. The Novel was published in the United Kingdom and the United States in 1884 and 1885 respectively. The novel is also regarded as one of the great American novels

Therefore, based on the excerpt, the most reasonable plot prediction is that Huck will confidently face his father.

Answer:

The most reasonable plot prediction is that Huck will confidently face his father.

Explanation:

The evidence on the excerpt suggests that something has clicked in Huck and he has encounter a new strenght of mind to face an old conflict. For instance: "I used to be scared of him all the time, he tanned me so much. I reckoned I was scared now, too; but in a minute I see I was mistaken". Huck recognises a fear and a situation with which he is familiar, yet he feels differently. Also: "... but right away after I see I warn't scared of him worth bothring about." This is the realisation that the situation no longer controls him but the other way around, so it is safe to assume that he'll be able to deal with it differently (whereas before he was scared and vulnerable, now he is more determined and confident).

How are Sandburg's "Grass" and Stevens's "The Anecdote of the Jar" similar?
zloy xaker [14]

B. Both poems compare man-made things to natural things. So that both of them deals with nature. They describe how the wildness and slovenliness could take over such vast area. Whatever you do in the nature, even if you want to change something, the things you do will return to the nature and stay in there, again. The objects which the authors write about in the poems show that the nature will dominate them with its power.
