1. One of the main positives of a big town is a large number of shops available in every corner of the city. What I mean by this is that whenever you live, there are some useful stores like supermarkets, banks, tobacconists and clothing stores where you can easily buy everything you need without going to the city center. Secondly, living in a big town is a big challenge for evening parties. In London, for example, there are so many things to do in the evenings like going to the cinema, to the pub or to the park during the summer period.

Turning to the other side of the argument, traffic could be one of the major disadvantages of living in a big city. Many people take the car every day and it has also been proved that the majority of the families have at least two cars. This means that you have to deal with rush-hour traffic on your way to work and on your way back. In addition, in a big town, there is consequently a lot of smog and this can really affect people’s health.

To sum it all up, living in a big city has great advantages but also some significant negatives. You have to weigh up on the pros of enjoying evenings’ nights outside and the availability of many shops and the cons of cope with smog and traffic issues. Personally, I believe that the benefits of enjoying the city-life and the comfort of having shops at every corner, eventually overweigh the negatives.

2. The modern trend of home rule charters provides a county or municipality with more autonomy over local affairs. While this can be advantageous from the perspective of the county or municipality, the manner in which this local power has been used has caused some to desire a return to or to remain as a general law county or municipality.

Advantages.

Four main advantages of home rule charters commonly cited are: the reduction of legislative interference in city affairs permits citizens to determine the form and administrative organization of their local government the state legislature is relieved of the time-consuming burden of special legislation, and can devote its exclusive attention to state problems permits citizens to have a greater voice in the determination of local government policies and thus encourages many more citizens to become interested in and participate in local affairs.[8] Disadvantages Four main disadvantages of home rule charters commonly cited are: frequent changes in the charter may cause instability in local government home rule allows local political and interest groups increased freedom from state supervision and interference system makes the solution of region-wide problems more difficult as a local government could refuse to participate due to propose to amend the charter, ballots may become excessive in length and discourage citizens from casting a vote on each referred issue.

Firlakuza [10]

NO options provided, kindly let me elaborate some of the challenges the empire faced:

The otoman empire large size precipitated its downfall. After suleiman assasinated his son and chose a weak ruler instead the empire suffered from inadequate administration. The rulers also engaged in corruption. in addition, the lack of an elaborate succession plan, meant frequent civil wars resulting from fractricide. Eventually, the war involved the jannissaries, royal sons from the royal halem. The empire quickly disintegrated into economic problems.
