It is used to persuade someone. 
Logos: Facts and data ; ex, you should buy this toothpaste because it has helped 87% of people keep their teeth white.

Pathos: Using emotional things(remember heart for this one);ex, if you don't buy this toothpaste you are going to hurt all the children in Africa(it does not have to be that dramatic)

Ethos: someone qualified;ex, Hey i'm a doctor and i say this toothpaste is great!<span />
