The aftermath of Lewis and Clark's expedition was not all positive to the Mandan natives. The most devastating epidemic was the smallpox outbreak in the year 1837 which killed a lot of people, the epidemic was important in uniting the surviving people in Mandan and Hidatsa who later engaged in trading, farming and hunting

The Great Awakening was an Evangelical Revival in the 1730s in Great Britain and the Thirteen Colonies in America. This new movement “encouraged individuals to take control of their own beliefs. Great Awakening preachers believed in introspection and personal guilt and how commitment to new standards of morality would turn out in salvation by Christ.
Women as well as minority groups such as African Americans were not excluded from this movement and there wasn’t an increased connection with the Church of England.
Great Awakening movement had a great impact on the American Revolution as it created a sense freedom of religion.
