Ovid's "Pyramus and Thisbe" and Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" share many a fact in the plot. The families in both literary works are in enmity with each other, situation which makes the love between Romeo and Juliet, and between Pyramus and Thisbe impossible. Both have a narrative writing style. The construction of the characters is of importance and how love is created among the protagonists. It is said that Ovid was of great influence to Shakespeare and death is encountered due to lack of communication in both tragic cases.
