A noun is a the "thing" of the sentence. They represent a person, place, thing, or idea. Usually they are the setting, the characters and most physical and abstract objects. An adjective is anything that describes a noun. They are what give the nouns more feeling. For example in blue person, the noun is person and the adjective. The adjective livens up the sentence while the noun creates the setting and the characters

Vain means excessively proud of one's appearence so when someone spends too much time in a mirror, they are considered vain. I have seen this in my daily life because so many women and men spend too much time in front of a mirror just looking at themeselves not even fixing up.

Answer:

Whitman’s Leaves of Grass is the embodiment of Emerson’s Essay on Self-Reliance. It is a poem that was way ahead of its times and completely original in form, language, and ideas. It is a perfect example of what Emerson says in his Essay on Self-Reliance:

“A man should learn to detect and watch that gleam of light which flashes across his mind from within, more than the lustre of the firmament of bards and sages. Yet he dismisses without notice his thought, because it is his. In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come back to everyone with a certain alienated majesty.”
