While on a walk in the country, you pass a field full of horses and chickens. After a quick count, you determine there are 43 he
Irina-Kira [14]

Horse = x = 1 head and 4 feet

Chicken =y = 1 head and 2 feet

Horse + chicken = x + y = 43 ( total heads)

Horse = 43 - y

4x + 2y = 122

4(43-y) + 2y = 122

Simplify:

172-4y + 2y = 122

Combine like terms

172-2y = 122

Subtract 172 from both sides

-2y = -50

Divide both sides by-2

Y = 25

X + y = 43

X + 25 = 43

X = 18

There are 18 horses and 25 chickens.

Find the length of arc AB
marissa [1.9K]

Step 1: Find the circumference of the circle

Formula for circumference: C = 2 * pi * r

C = 2 * pi * 27

C = 54pi

Step 2: Find the length of the desired arc

We are only looking for 20 degrees out of 360 degrees, therefore we can multiply our circumference by 20/360.

20/360 * 54pi = 3pi units

Hope this helps!

6 2(x + 6) = 3(x + 1)
saul85 [17]

Are you try to find x?

If not I will edit this to suit what ou needed but ima just assume u need to find x for now.

I'm pretty sure we have to find what make them equal starting with number 1.

 1. 2(1.5 + 6) = 3(5 + 1)
 2. 2(4x1.625+1) = 3(2+3)
 3. 2(5x2 + 9) = 10x2 + 18

I would've answered the rest to the best of my ability but I have to go eat and I cant take my answer down

Using the identity sin? O + cos? O = 1, find the value of tan O, to the nearest
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

3.7

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

 • sin²θ + cos²θ = 1
 • sinθ = 0.27

Solving for cosθ

 • cos²θ = 1 - sin²θ
 • cos²θ = 1 - (0.27)²
 • cos²θ = 0.0729

Finding tanθ

 • tanθ = sinθ / cosθ
 • tanθ = 0.27 / 0.0729
 • tanθ = 3.7

Verifying it lies in the range

 • θ = tan⁻¹ (3.7)
 • θ = 74.88°
 • Range is : 0 < θ < π/2 [or 0 < θ < 90°]
 • It lies in the range [Verified]
