A mass society is one that has a mass produced culture and social institutions that are impersonalized and heavily bureaucratic. It has affected economy by creating a safer way for an economy to work because the rules are clearly set up and you have to respect them and it's not on a case by case basis. The leisure activities have been reduced since a mass culture has been developed and basically everyone watches it or does it, like now when everyone uses facebook or everyone watches reality tv shows.

By 1900 the middle class had grown considerably. The word mass refers to a large

quantity or amount. Members of the growing middle class began to have some leisure time and looked for

ways to amuse themselves, which led to mass entertainment such as movies, amusement parks, travel,

and spectator sports. Factories began mass production of goods. Department stores were built and mass

merchandising through catalogs became very popular. People began communicating with instruments of

mass communication such as telephones and telegraph.

The introduction of the "four field rotation" in agriculture had what effect on the industrial revolution?
CaHeK987 [17]
Production of more food--the system allowed for more food to be produced which fed the workers in an industrial economy.

The 'four-field system' rotates crops between the 4 fields no longer needing to keep one empty because one of the crops would replenish the field with nutrients while the others take nutrients away from the fields. <span />
