Thus a war of independence begun, which saw Vietnam gain independence from France. However, Hi Chi Minh was a different ideology and the American government didn't really like that ideology. They supported a southern, anti-communist government. America would bomb Vietnam for quite some time until Nixon ordered troops to leave Vietnam.
