It's simple, if you understand. Let's see.

y= the total cost of everything.
x=the total amount of hours spent on the contract.

It's simple!!

$140 is the base line. It never changes. So, we begin with $140. Every hour Luigi works, he charges $25. So $140+$25x. Finally, our total amount is y, so $140+$25x=y. abracadabra!!

vitfil [10]
S=small pizzas
p=pasta dinners

s+p=1600

9s+13p=15600
multiply first equaiton by -9 and add to the second one

-9s-9p=-14400
9s+13p=15600 +
0s+4p=1200

4p=1200
divide by 4
p=300

sub back

s+p=1600
s+300=1600
minus 300 both sides
s=1300

1300 small pizzas

You have $50,000 to invest (YAY!). You need $350,000 in the account to retire in 30 years. At what continuously compounded inter
Luden [163]

Answer:

You need to invest at a continuous compound interest rate of 6.701355026%

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula to use is the compound interest formula:A=P(1+r/100)^t

where A=Total amount at the end of the investment period

P=Principal amount

R=Rate of interest

T=Investment tenor/time

Now,

350,000=50000(1+r/100)^30 is what needs to be simplified to 6.701355026%

Stephanie has 20 coins in her purse.
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

11 dimes and 9 quarters

Step-by-step explanation:

lets make x quarters and y dimes

Here is the equation we have so far:

x+y=20

BUT it can also be used to determine the values:

0.25x+0.10y=3.35

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

0.25x+0.10y=3.35

x+y=20

Im going to solve for quarters first.

Multiply everything by 0.25 on the bottom equation: 0.25x+0.25y=5

Now you have two equations:

0.25x+0.10y=3.35

and 0.25x+0.25y=5

subtract out the 0.25x

.15y=1.65

y=11

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

you have 11 dimes.

x+11=20

x=9

You have 9 quarters
