When an object has the gravity to pull itself into a sphere, astronomers say that it's in hydrostatic equilibrium. And that's why the Earth is round. Of course, the Earth isn't perfectly round. Because it's turning on its axis approximately once every 24 hours, the Earth's equator bulges outwards.

Kipish [7]

Answer:

In 1849, Californians sought statehood and, after heated debate in the U.S. Congress arising out of the slavery issue, California entered the Union as a free, nonslavery state by the Compromise of 1850. California became the 31st state on September 9, 1850. ... California situated its first capital in San Jose.

The northern boundary was set along the 42nd parallel. The southern boundary had already determined by the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo with Mexico. The northeast corner of the state would be the point where the 42nd parallel met the 120th meridian, to include the Sierras.

Question 3 (1 point
Virty [35]

Answer:

AB = 5.8 units

Explanation:

The distance of line segment AB shown in the attachment below can be calculated using the distance formula, d = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}, assuming that each box in the graph equals 1 unit.

A(2, 4)

B(-3, 1)

Let,

A(2, 4) = (x_1, y_1)

B(-3, 1) = (x_2, y_2)

Plug in the values into the distance formula

d = \sqrt{(-3 - 2)^2 + (1 - 4)^2}

d = \sqrt{(-5)^2 + (-3)^2}

d = \sqrt{25 + 9}

d = \sqrt{34}

d = 5.8 (nearest tenth)

AB = 5.8 units
