What were the artistic, literary, and intellectual ideas of the Renaissance?
dem82 [27]
he Renaissance was an era when educated people became very enthusiastic about the classical era, i.e. Greek and Roman times. They thought that classical styles in art, literature, architecture etc should be copied. So for instance the exquisite Gothic architecture of the medieval period was despised as barbaric, and replaced by the heavy neo-classical style of building of the early modern period. It was also an era when the political power of individuals increased greatly. Kings and princes of indviducal states became immensely more powerful than they had been in medieval times. For instance king Henry VIII of england had more aboslute power than any previous english monarch.I hope this helped you!
