When the formation of gametes takes place, there is independent assortment, i.e. each gene is contributed int the gamete independent of the other gene.

For the genotype Ggkk, the gamete would either receive allele G or g for the first gene and would receive allele k for the other gene.

Following this, the gamete can either be Gk or gk.
