Scholars have debted this question since the civil war ended. They to this day remain divided on this question. To answer it we must ask ourselves a question. If there was no slavery in the US at the time of the civil war would southern states have ceded from the union? The answer is weighted heavily to no. So the answer to this question is yes. Even though there were many other issues between the north and the south slavery was the issue that caused the southern states to leave the union.

Which nations wanted independence from Austria-Hungary? CHECK ALL THAT APPLY
inna [77]

Answer:

Bosnia

Serbia

Explanation:

Austria-Hungary was a powerful country that existed during the 19th century and until the beginning of the 20th century. It was located in Central Europe and the Balkan Peninsula, including the territories of modern day Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, northern Italy, southern Poland, western Ukraine, northern and western Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and northern Serbia (Vojvodina). Multiple nations were not happy by the rule of Austria-Hungary, so they openly opposed it and were trying to get independence, with Bosnia and Serbia being some of those states. Bosnia and Serbia managed to gain independence only after the Austria-Hungary Empire fell apart, so both of them became part of the newly form Kingdom of SHS.

3. After the battle, Roosevelt wrote to his friend
Montano1993 [528]

Answer:

I do agree with Roosevelt.

Explanation:

The battle referred in the question is The Battle of San Juan Hill and took place on Jul1 1, 1898, as part of the American-Spanish War. This battle was a very important factor to determine the course of the war. In this battle, Roosevelt was in charge of the Rough Riders (1st United States Volunterr Cavalry). The Battle of San Juan Hill is also considered their biggest triumph.

The Medal of Honor is an award delivered by the President of the US in name of the Congress and it is given to members of the Army, Navy or Air Force who have expressed acts of valor during their service. This battle was won by the Rough Riders, and according to what historians say, Roosevelt was, perhaps, the most important factor. So, according to the standards, I agree with Roosevelt.
