You split wood with an axe. How would you change the axe to make splitting the wood easier? How would you increase its mechanical advantage?

I think I'd make a top of the axe heavier and then I'd sharpen the blade. Also it's very important to make comfortable handle as you need to hold it strong. And you need to smooth the handle if you don't want to get a splinter in your hand as it's dangerous enough. As heavier your axe as easier your wood will be split.
