Which of the following factors limited the New England colonies from producing as much food and agricultural goods as the Southe
andreev551 [17]

One of the main factors that limited the New England colonies from producing as much food and agricultural goods as the Southern colonies was the soil. The soil in the North wasn't good for agricultural purposes. It was rocky and infertile, which wasn't ideal for growing crops. Although some of the soil was suitable for growing food, most of it wasn't.

Another factor was the weather. In order to create a good amount of food and agricultural goods, the weather would have to be ideal to do so. The weather in the North was cold and in the winter it would snow, which caused many crops to die. The South was hotter and could handle more crops for growing, it also impacted how the soil was.

In the end, factors like these contributed to the fact that the South was an agricultural place. The Southern states relied on agriculture for their wealth, while the North turned to industrialization for their income.

What was Operation Desert Storm? How did it affect the country? What did it achieve?
timurjin [86]

Answer:

  1. The Atlantic mentions that Operation Desert Storm was carried out by George H.W. Bush and was "a military operation to expel occupying Iraqi forces from Kuwait, which Iraq had invaded and annexed months earlier." It was America's first military conflict since the Vietnam war, which is why it's so important.
  2. NY Times states that "The gulf crisis hurt consumer confidence and snagged business spending on new plant and equipment. The slide into recession, together with the steep costs of bailing out the savings and loan associations, deepened the Federal budget deficit," meaning that the economy in the United States was affected negatively.
  3. NY Times also states that Operation Desert Storm "cost the United States and its allies $60 billion and helped set off an economic recession caused in part by a spike in oil prices. For that war, the allies picked up almost 80 percent of the bill." The United States liberated Kuwait as a result.
