Because the draft exempted college students, the burden of fighting fell on the working class and the poor. MLK, Jr. spoke out against the administration as violent and draining resources. Why did Austria-Hungary annex Bosnia and Herzegovina?
mario62 [17]
The Austrian/Hungarians wanted that province for themselves. It was revealed that the The Slavs had their own agenda and wanted to stray from the pan-Slavic ambitions and this was seen as a rebellion. They also wanted to annex themselves from Austria/Hungary.  To capture control, by either party, would upset the balance of power in Europe and defeat the purpose of a Dual Monarchy.
