<em><u>Answer:</u></em>

Two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan.

<em><u>Explanation:</u></em>

Following the deployment of an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, the Japanese empire refused to take the warnings announced through the leaflets, and so they did not yield and the war continued.

A few days later after the ultimatum, the city of Nagasaki was bombed as well, and it was then when the Japanese empire unconditionally surrendered.

The leaflets failed to convince the Japanese to surrender before this occurrence.
