Her hair was like curly silk and she had a delicate little nose which seemed to be disdaining things, and she had large laughing

eyes. All her clothes were thin and floating, and Mary said they were "full of lace." They looked fuller of lace than ever this morning, but her eyes were not laughing. They were large and scared and lifted imploringly to the fair boy officer's face. "Is it so very bad? Oh, is it?" Mary heard her say. "Awfully," the young man answered in a trembling voice. "Awfully, Mrs. Lennox. You ought to have gone to the hills two weeks ago." The Memsahib wrung her hands. Which detail best supports the idea that Mrs. Lennox is worried?

matthew henson and four eskimos were (the team). what is the correct subject or object pronoun for the word in parentheses
Afina-wow [57]

I believe the answer should be it. the word team is a collective noun which refers to a group but is considered a singular noun. So I would use it and not them as the pronoun.

The hammock swayed gently in the warm breeze, enticing someone to occupy it. Which option correctly identifies the subject and t
OLga [1]

Answer:

The option which correctly identifies the subject and the verb of the sentence is:

d. The subject is "hammock" and the verb is "swayed."

Explanation:

The subject of a sentence can be described as the sentence's topic, that is, what the sentence is about. The verb of a sentence often expresses the action performed by the subject or helps connect the subject to a description about it. In the sentence we are analyzing here, the subject is "hammock". What is there to know about this hammock? That it "swayed" in the breeze. "Swayed" is the action performed by the hammock and, therefore, the verb of the sentence.
