The Battle of Fort Necessity (also called the Battle of the Great Meadows) took place on July 3, 1754, in what is now the mountaintop hamlet of Farmington in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The engagement was one of the first battles of the French and Indian War and George Washington's only military surrender.

Answer:

This was the first and only time when George Washington surrender to the enemy.

Explanation:

The aftermath of this battle first of all was that it started the French and Indian War, one of reasons why the Seven Years' War started. This was a very significant war where some countries of all five continents were involved. Also, it forced George Washington to sign a surrender document in exchange to be able to retreat and regroup.  However, the document stated that Washington was responsible for the assassination of the French Officer Jumonville, something that Washington strongly denied. This was a strategy used by the French to make propaganda against Washington.
