re there was the most need – there are so many places where nothing has been done for the freedmen, and where they are sorely persecuted – we came here. A schoolhouse built by the soldiers had just been destroyed by the citizens. The feeling is intensely bitter against anything northern. The affairs of the Freedmen’s Bureau have been very much mismanaged, and our government has been disgraced by the troops who were stationed here.” What can you infer from the quote above?
The Freedman’s Bureau was succeeding its goals of furthering education.
The local citizens did not support the building of the school house.

Answer:

The local citizens did not support the building of the school house

Explanation:

The above quote from a northern school teacher points to one salient fact that the local citizens, in all it's entirety, never really supported the building of the school house by the soldiers.

It cannot be said that the Freedman's Bureau was succeeding in its goals of furthering education, because, we it is very glaring that the school built were destroyed by the citizens, of which they never supported in the first place.

Also, there is nowhere in the quote that suggest that the southern citizens appreciated the work being done by this school teacher.

We also cannot infer that the northern soldiers got along well with the local citizens of the south, otherwise, the local citizens won't have destroyed the school they built for them.

Answer:

The local citizens did not support the building of the school house.

Explanation:

The text above shows how local citizens from southern states did not support the construction of the school house established by Union soldiers. This was due to the intense grudge held by many southerners towards everything that came from the northern states. This was a very bad situation, because it prevented many southern citizens from receiving quality education, in addition, this behavior encouraged disagreements between the two sides of the country.

alexira [117]

Answer: Yes

Explanation: In an attempt to propose unconventional models of spiritual development, Fowler and Wilber propose a higher and more trascendental vision of spirituality that enables us to expand our levels of faith and consciousness in life over time. In connection to this, I consider it helpful for human beings to conceive spirituality in connection with 'the trascendental', since it may enable us to see beyond and to try to challenge our inner selves so as to grow spiritually.

Which of the confederate states were west of the mississippi river
dimulka [17.4K]
The Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War consists of the major military operations west of the Mississippi River. The area is often thought of as excluding the states and territories bordering the Pacific Ocean, which formed the Pacific Coast Theater of the American Civil War (1861–1865).

Map of Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War, featuring only the major battles
The campaign classification established by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior[1] is more fine-grained than the one used in this article. Some minor NPS campaigns have been omitted and some have been combined into larger categories. Only a few of the 75 major battles the NPS classifies for this theater are described. Boxed text in the right margin show the NPS campaigns associated with each section.

Activity in this theater in 1861 was dominated largely by the dispute over the status of the border state of Missouri. The Missouri State Guard, allied with the Confederacy, won important victories at the Battle of Wilson's Creek and the First Battle of Lexington. However, they were driven back at the First Battle of Springfield. A Union army under Samuel Ryan Curtis defeated the Confederate forces at the Battle of Pea Ridge in northwest Arkansas in March 1862, solidifying Union control over most of Missouri. The areas of Missouri, Kansas, and the Indian Territory (modern-day Oklahoma) were marked by extensive guerrilla activity throughout the rest of the war, the most well-known incident being the infamous Lawrence massacre in the Unionist town of Lawrence, Kansas of August 1863.
